Development of Historic Property
The Historic Preservation Committee (HPC) oversees all development on properties that the town considers historic. The committee consists of 5 members who are all Los Gatos residents. Three are members of the public who are appointed by the Town Council. The other 2 members are from the Planning Commission who are appointed by the Planning Commission Chair. The committee is composed of professional and lay members with demonstrated interest, competence or knowledge in historic preservation. The committee meets the 4th Wednesday of every month at 4 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers. For dates, select the Events Calendar.
There is a 10 day appeal period on all final actions taken by the Historic Preservation Committee. Appeals will be considered by the Planning Commission.
Final Action - On applications that can be approved by the Director of Community Development or Planning Commission the HPC provides a recommendation of either approval or denial (or a continuance of the matter).
