Many neighborhoods in Los Gatos & Monte Sereno have organized for disaster preparedness and received the added benefit of developing a safer, friendlier place to live.
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is one of the most visible Town emergency preparedness programs, sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). This 23-hour course offers training in disaster preparation response and recovery skills. Topics include:

**There are no Los Gatos/Monte Sereno classes scheduled at this time.
Classes are usually Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Saturday classes are from 9:00 am to 12:00 or 1:00 pm depending on the session. Click here to register. Class sessions location to be determined. The final exercise location will be announced well in advance.
The cost for this 23-hour program is $30 per person for residents of incorporated Los Gatos and Monte Sereno, and $50 for residents of other cities and unincorporated areas of Santa Clara and Santa Cruz Counties. Class graduates will receive a CERT manual, helmet and vest, as well as all course related supplies. Community Emergency Response Team information is available on the FEMA site.
